Making a list and checking it twice....

If you are anything like me these days, you have lists...what to buy, what to make, when to be there...

Well, as long as we have to make lists, we may as well make them pretty! I bought these long notepads last summer knowing I would do something with them, someday. I spent most of the past week making kits for Simply Scrapbooks holiday open house and was finishing up tonight when this idea hit me.

The notepads are fun for personal use but what a great (and inexpensive) stocking stuffer, secret Santa gift, or just an add on to another gift.

So easy to make...took me about 15 minutes start to finish and that included looking for the perfect stamps in my stash. (I used Denami Designs stamps for the first and third ones) And dont you just *Looooooove* that saying on the middle one. Sorry, I picked this up at the stamp show, no idea who manufactures it...but how stinking cute!

Onto the easy peasy directions:
Cut one piece of cardstock 9" x 3 1/2"
Cut one piece of cardstock 7 1/2" x 3"
Cut one piece of chipboard 7 1/2" x 3"
Cover cardstock with cardstock (matching size)
Score the larger piece of cardstock at the 1" and 1 1/4" mark
Adhere the chipboard covered cardstock to the bottom layer (centered)
Adhere the notepad to the top of the chipboard layered cardstock (centered)
Decorate, Decorate, decorate!!
Use a small or mini binder clip at the top to hold the fold together and hide with a ribbon.
I found it was easier to tear off sheets if you didnt adhere the fold to the front of the tablet.
Stamp each page of the tablet with a coordinating stamp

I have a zillion ideas to use these for....teacher gifts, wedding favors, shower favors, holidays...and you made it with paper! Imagine that!

Denami Christmas Blog Hop!

Season's Tweetings blog hoppers!

Welcome to my page...the day has finally arrived for the Denami Designs Holiday blog hop. I hope you are as excited as I am! Each poster will have links to the site before and after them in the journey, but if you get lost along the way, just head back to the Denami Blog page. http.denami.blogspot.com

Since I'm the first stop on the route, I chose to use my very first Denami stamp I purchased...the chickie tree. How can anyone resist the Denami Chickie in ANY outfit yet alone the santa hat. I chose to combine my favorite stamp with Doodlebug Christmas paper to create this cute little card. Too bad you can't FEEL the card...my little chickie friends are fuzzy thanks to yellow flock.

But wait.....there's more! Take a peek at the inside of the card... its a gift card holder too!

Instructions:
Cut base of card 11.5" x 4.25"
Score at 5.5" and 11" marks
Fold up small score towards middle of the card
Cut coordinating cardstock 2" x 4.25"
Use adhesive on bottom (small scored flap) and sides to form a pocket at the bottom
Decorate with all of your favorite Denami Stamps!

Thanks for stopping by today...but let's get you moving onto Laurie's blog! Don't forget to leave a comment on each page you visit...you could be the lucky winner of a Denami gift certificate.

October Design Team Cards

This month, I chose to make cards with the super cute Stampavie stamps by Tina Wenke that Simply Scrapbooks just started to carry.I absolutely adore these little critters dressed in their Halloween outfits. Can you even believe that its almost half way through October? Still plenty of time to make and send all of the little monsters in your life a spooky card.
I also wanted to showcase that you dont have to use an entire stamp all of the time. Stamping the image and cutting away part of it to either pop dot for dimension or to use by itself is a great way to get more great looks from just one stamp.

Have a Spooktacular Day!

Sports Chicks Rule!

Denami stamps have the most adorable little chickies and their last release included sports ones. The 4 pack includes baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. My hubby volunteered me to make the thank you card that will be presented from the girls to their coach at the tournament this weekend.I used the school colors for the ribbons...I wish they had a stamp that said "Soccer chicks rule"...maybe I'll suggest that.
I received so many compliments during the Denami designs October blog hop on the ribbon technique that I used. It is sooo super easy! I decided to make (my first) quick video so you can make them too.

A special thanks to my 7 year old daughter for being my videographer...she did a great job!

Denami Designs October Blog Hop!

First, I would like to welcome everyone to my blog! Many of you have found me through http://www.lauriechilon.blogspot.com... I am very happy to be a part of Denami's blog hop and hope that you have a great time looking at everyone's wonderful ideas using their stamps.

Below you will see three of my cards. The first one uses the adorable little turkey . I can hardly believe that we are already talking about Thanksgiving!

I am a HUGE Steeler fan so football always reminds me of fall! I was so happy when Denami made the football chickie this year for my second card!

My third little card uses quite a few of my Denami favorites, the barn, the farmer chickie, the corn stalks, and the thought bubbe that I converted into a cloud.

I wanted to keep my post short and sweet. I know you have quite a journey to make on the hop. Stop by often, I am always posting new cards and ideas. Your next stop is http://studiomsg.blogspot.com

Denami Sketch challenge & new kits at Simply Scrapbooks

Wow! What a weekend...Friday night, I decided to work on a card for Denami's latest challenge and lets just say it went from there. First, the challenge card:
And from there, I just couldn't seem to stop. I loved the doodlebug black dot paper, paired with gold, and the Denami daisy stamps....I came up with a 3 card set:

And why stop there...It has been months since I've designed a Cricut card kit and I was thinking about a children's card kit. One that would be great for a mom to make and tuck in a lunch box. I used Create a Critter to design this kit.
And finally...I went back to the black doodle bug dot but paired it with hot pink this time for a second Cricut kit. Both kits will be available at Simply this week.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

At least it is in the world of paper crafting...I went to Simply yesterday at 10 am to teach my class and I think it was a hit. Before the class was even over, I had bought 3 more Holly Berry House stamps and was designing my next one. You gotta love card makers! 7 of the talented ladies from yesterday's class signed up for the next one before they had even seen the cards. I think they will be happy.
The class is scheduled from 1-4pm on Sunday, November 7th and will probably sell out. Sign up early! 30 spots available and the cost is $20. Vicki is also pre-ordering the Holly Berry House stamps..we sold out of several designs used in class within minutes.

Pink, Black, & White

This is the latest color challenge by Denami Designs and also my personal theme over the last month...well actually the theme of my daughter's 7th birthday slumber party. 9 very well-behaved and giggly girls invaded our house last Saturday and I SURVIVED!
It was so much fun preparing everything for her party. Here are just a few of the things I've been working on the past month. I used the Denami buttons to make the adorable "calorie free" cupcake decoration-Thanks to Nami's inspiration at Stamp Away. So cute and it's only buttons, pins, and a foam ball. I never did find the time to make a card for the theme challenge this week (wonder why...hmmmm) but did use the Denami Daisy and polka dot stamps to make the favor bucket for the girls. We filled them with Silly Bandz.
And no, as talented as some of you think I am, I did NOT make the cake! I had to include it in the post because it is absolutely adorable.
With the birthday party of the year done, hopefully, I can find the time to design cards and classes again. Imagine that!

Team Edward!

Cardmaking and Edward Cullen...who could ask for anything more! I found this adorable stamp made by The Greeting Farm...named Edward...and couldn't wait to make a Twilight themed card. I used Copic markers to color and a clear Spica pen to make his skin sparkle. Not sure you can see in the pic but I used clear embossing powder and stamped "Bite Me" on the red strip.

Another adventure?

I was reading on the Denami blog that they are looking for teachers in our area and the idea sounded inviting, given my love of this particular stamp company. I'm going to submit the following cards, this weeks challenge cards, and my application next week...Wish me luck!

Bling It On!

Denami design blog started a new challenge and I definitely couldn't resist this one...GLITTER! Any cards designed by me HAVE to have BLING. The card I'm entering in this challenge is made with Denami the Petit Four Whimsical Wedding stamp set and I used white iridescent glitter which is hard to see in the pic :(
Although I am only entering one card in the challenge, I made 2 others with the same set. Be SURE to see the other Denmi cards I listed on my blog today!

Denami Design Sketch Challenge

I received the new fall DENAMI stamps in the mail a few weeks ago and have just been too darn busy to play with them....until tonight. The DeNami blog (Denami.blogspot.com) featured a card sketch challenge this week and I thought that was a good excuse to break out the new stamps. I am a sucker for all things Halloween! I've never entered my cards in anything before so wish me luck.

For my card, I used some Halloween-ish paper from my stash, coordinating cardstock, Denami Halloween chickies, "Trick or Tweet" (okay, how cute is that!), candy corn, and spider web stamp. I colored with Copics and added Star Dust Stickles for some bling...After all, it wouldn't be one of MY cards unless it sparkled somehow.

Look for more cards featuring DeNami stamps to be posted soon!

A few older projects

I'm on a roll today...finding some pics of previous projects and classes. I was in a pink/black mood last month. Had fun playing with the new Bazzill Bling placement templates (layout) and Just Rite Stamps for easy monogram cards in a "pizza" box.

New Card Class-Simply Scrapbooks

Join me on Sunday, June 27th 1-3pm and create these super cute chef cards using Inky Antics Stamps and Copic markers. Also included in the class is a great magazine style card holder.

New Cricut Cards

I just love my cricut and making cute cards. The new Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter" arrived in the mail last week and I couldnt wait to play with it. I also created a set using the Paisley Cartridge....new to blogging so stay tuned while I work out the bugs....like bigger pictures!

Well, here I am!

I've been thinking about starting a blog so I could share my latest projects and maybe a few ideas that I may never get to. You crafters know what I mean. I have so many "Someday I'll do this one..." filed up here in my head.

I used to scrapbook but I've let my current scrapbooks lapse to almost 2 years behind. My current love is stamping and card making. So lets get started...
