Pocket Mini Album

I'm on a roll with mini albums and this one just might be my favorite one yet.

It's made completely from card stock except for the chipboard cover. Just a few score line, a quick snip of scissors and I made an album that can hold 30 photos!!

I grabbed some really bright and fun paper, mainly because everything outside was blindingly white when I made it. I originally planned on making it in some high school graduation colors or some pretty Mother's Day motif but bright and springy won out.

I'm going to offer this as a class sometime in May at The Paper Cottage. Best part? You will get to choose your own paper. Paper will be included in the class fee but you will need to bring any ribbons or other embellishments you wish to add. I will bring my punches for the tags.

Hope to see you when Dayton finally thaws out.

A mini book idea

Using the same paper line as in my previous post, I tried my hand at creating my own mini book. It's made of chip board and paper. I saw similar ones on YouTube and Pinterest but no instructions... So I set off on a quest with my paper trimmer and bone folder.

I got the general accordion binding concept and my book turned out okay but definitely not worthy of teaching yet. My last page tags don't turn as they should so I have to tweak the design a bit.

All in all, a cute book though.

C ya real soon!

I am sick of winter! There, I said it. Time to start thinking about spring break and summer vacation plans. No, we're not heading to Mouse Land this year but lots of people are.
I had a bunch of Disney looking paper and people always like mini books so I made this one. I found the mouse ear idea online. It's been for ever since I've used my Cricut!

I saw these little tag pockets in several mini books so I tweaked it for the size I needed.

It's also been a while since I've hosted a class due to my ever busy work schedule. I'm thinking of doing this book as a class the last Sat of April at The Paper Cottage.

Summer is coming!

Really it is! Only a few more turns on the calendar and we'll be cursing the heat. I can't wait!!

I was shopping through The Paper Cottage and happened upon this paper line. (Terrible about writing them down or remembering them) My Minds Eye?

They had the paper and a sheet of punch out images. I ended up with this set of cards and lots of left over punch outs to create a few more.

We had a winter storm warning the night I stayed in and made them. So crafting and dreaming of Summer helped.

If the paper line is still in stock, you might find a kit at your favorite store soon.

For an "owl-some" girl

I'm not much into the whole home party scene. I do buy it but don't often host a party. Then I was introduced to Origami Owl... Nope, nothing to do with paper or folding.

My friends 14 year old daughter started selling it and I agreed to be her very first hostess. I invited friends over to fill little window lockets with tiny little charms. The party topped $1700 in sales!!

I think of the little lockets as miniature scrapbook pages. They have pet charms, memory charms, birthstones, sports..
You tell your story in a piece of jewelry. I earned loads of free stuff. Even got Mother's Day & birthday presents.

My little pint sized consultant did an excellent presentation so I made her the card set below from a Cricut cartridge I had never used.

If you are on FB, like her page. https://www.facebook.com/OrigamiOwlByMariellThimme

I highly recommend hosting a party. People went crazy for them. Need extra $ for stamps? Consider selling. She made a nice size commission.
